Instructions:
- Preheat & Prepare – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
- Mix Wet Ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together oil, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients – In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
- For Chocolate Cake – If making a chocolate version, stir in cocoa powder and hot water.
- Bake – Pour batter evenly into pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool & Frost – Let cakes cool completely before frosting with your favorite icing.
